Organic September Your Feet

Monday 17 September 2018

It’s organic September, which was started by the Soil Association to make people more aware of going organic. I’ve been a bit quiet for the first part of the month as I ended up moving apartment, which I will be sharing more about another time, but now I’m back.

I wanted to share some of my favourite organic brands this month and I wanted to start with what I wear on my feet as I don’t think that’s what is on people’s mind when switching to organic.

I'm wearing all ethical brands including my sunglasses.

Socks
Our clothing industry plays a huge part in polluting our planet. Choosing more sustainable and organic materials is something we need to do. Kind Socks is an organic sock wear brand with fun and colourful socks using organic cotton. They’re also fair trade which means all the workers get paid a fair wage. Kind Socks ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in the summer and will be launching officially very soon. You can preorder them on Indiegogo right now.

Shoes
Shoes were probably one of the last items of clothing that I changed to more sustainable. Veja creates sneakers that are made differently. I got the Vegan canvas shoes. The cotton is 100% organic and fair trade and the rubber for the soles is wild and fairly traded from the Amazon jungle. This helps to increase the economic value of the forest and helps in the fight against deforestation.

I'm wearing the Veja vegan Canva and Stephen is wearing the Veja Leather sneakers that are made with as low impact on the environment as possible. We both are wearing Kind socks.

I'm loving walking around with a clean conscious knowing that what I'm wearing on my feet is providing a solution to the problems of our polluted planet and I can have style with kindness.
