We all want healthy looking and shiny hair. With the cold weather we’ve been having the hair easily looks dull and static. Here are some tips on how to achieve beautiful and healthy hair no matter what the weather.
Use a small fibre towel
The hair is the most vulnerable when it’s wet and easily breaks. Aquis towels are friction-free Aquitex-fabric that gently dries the hair without rubbing, minimising frizz and breakage. It restores strength, smoothness and shine. It even makes the colour stay vibrant for longer. It cuts the drying time by 50% as it gets the water out much quicker and perfectly prepares the hair for effortless styling with fewer tangles.
Aquitex towels are lightweight made from ultra-fine fibres that are split into strands thinner than silk. They’re uniquely woven to create channels that quickly wick water away from hair without snagging cuticles or causing friction. The absorbed water is efficiently distributed across the fabric while continuing to dry hair at the point of contact. This helps minimise the swelling and stretching of the hair, which gives stronger, healthier and more manageable hair.
I've been loving my towel from Aquis and I’ve noticed it is more manageable but also gives the hair more volume too. If you don’t have an Aquatix-towel, an old t-shirt works just as well.
Drink plenty of water
If you are dehydrated it will show on your hair and skin looking dull. Make sure you drink plenty of water for a more shiny and healthy hair. I can tell a huge difference when I haven’t been drinking enough water.
Brush your hair with a wooden brush
With the right brush, you can help stimulate hair growth and add more volume and shine to your hair. A wooden brush doesn’t pull your hair in the same way a plastic brush can. It also stimulates the scalp and distributes your natural hair sebum evenly throughout your hair making it less greasy but gives it a healthy shine. I wrote a whole post on the benefits of using a wooden brush.
Oil your hair
Oils are amazing for your hair. I use them as serums but also as over-night treatments.
Leaving it overnight it gives the oil time to absorb into the hair properly to strengthen the hair and it removes frizz and any static.
I’ve been using peppermint oil from Alchemy oils recently. It’s such a refreshing oil especially perfect for dry winter scalp. It soothes and refreshes the scalp and strengthening the hair. It smells amazing too. If you haven’t been piling your hair it’s time to begin.
These are some of the things I regularly use for my hair and I’ve discovered a difference. My hair feels stronger and not as lank and lifeless as it could be sometimes, but instead more volume and shinier.
Have you tried any of these things for your hair?
