Odylique - timeless rose moisuriser

Saturday, 8 April 2017

Moving into a new season means changing up the skin routine again. I like to go for a little lighter day cream when it's starting to feel like spring. I managed to find the perfect cream for just that. Odylique timeless rose moisturiser is a lovely cream that just screams spring.

First of all, it's the scent. it has a subtle scent of rose and an undertone of coconut. It gives you a sense of peace and calm when applying it. It's packaged in a beautiful glass bottle with a pump, which makes it easy to apply. It very much reminds me of one of my old time favourites from Suti. Both in look and scent.

The cream is light but moisturising to my normal to dry skin. Perfect for these early spring days. I've been using as a day cream for 3-4 weeks now and enjoyed it from day one.

It's 100% natural, 94,1% organic and suitable for vegans.

Den är 100% naturlig, 94,1% ekologisk och vegansk.

Review | Handmade Naturals

Saturday, 31 October 2015

Beautiful natural and vegan skincare products that are handmade in the UK.

It was all by a coincidence I walked by a cute little shop in Hampstead called bubbles & light. It was the sign saying  "vegan and natural" that made me stop. So I had to go inside and explore.

Immediately I was drawn to the Handmade Naturals products.

Handmade Naturals products are handmade in the UK with only natural and pure ingredients. All their products are cruelty free and vegan.

All their products are free from
- SLS, SLES
- parabens
- artificial fragrance (perfume)
- alcohol
- colours
- chemical ingredients
- synthetic additives or petrolatum

So what did I buy?
I bought Balancing face cream for normal & combination skin. I just ran out of face cream so perfect timing. I also bought a shower & bath gel called exotic with Ylang-ylang and orange.

Balancing face cream
The face cream contains:
- chamomile
- Shea butter
- rose hip
- rose geranium
- mandarin

It has a pleasant smell. The cream feels light to apply. It has a pump so it's easy to get the right amount with only one pump. You can use the balancing face cream as both day and night cream.

My skin is normal with some dry patches on my cheeks. I found that the cream helped balance out my dry areas and it felt hydrating on my skin.

Shower & bath gel - exotic
The shower gel is gentle on the skin and has a lovely exotic smell but not very strong. Which is normally a sign that there's no synthetic perfumes, which is what we like.

It's made with coco glucose, which is the mildest sugar detergent available.

Ylang-Ylang is believed to relieve high blood pressure and normalise sebum secretion for skin problems.

Sweet orange is an uplifting oil that works as an antidepressant and improves concentration. It is also highly effective at cleansing  and detoxifying the body.

The exotic shower gel is the winner of  Janey loves platinum award 2014.

How long does it last?
What I like about Handmade Naturals is that they have best before dates. It also tells you to use within 3 months of opening. It shows that it's a truly natural product.

I find that Handmade Naturals are affordable. The shower gel is £6.25 and face cream is £11.50.

Have you ever tried Handmade Naturals? What did you think?

Review| Neal's Yard Remedies - Rose and Mallow moisturiser

Sunday, 12 July 2015

was advices to try the Rose & Mallow moisturiser when I went in to the Neal's Yard shop at Borough Market.

On the label Neal's Yard says "Lightly moisturises and protects all skin types. Cooling and restorative rose balances the complexion while mallow and almond soften and smooth for radiant skin."

I found this cream perfect for my normal skin. I use it for my face and it softens my skin and feels smooth and hydrated. The cream is light and absorbs in to the skin easily.

The moisturiser has a lovely, gentle smell from rose and citrus. I like that it doesn't have a strong smell of rose, as it can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.

I'm a big fan of Neal's Yard Remedies products as they are free from so many nasty ingredients like
 - parabens
 - EDTA
 - mineral oils
 - synthetic fragrances or colours
 - silicones
 - GMO

As they're free from all of those things it helps your skin to breathe better and doesn't harm your skin or blood stream.

Neal's Yard Remedies are easy to recognise with their blue glass jars/bottles and their purple labels. The Rose & Mallow moisturiser cost £22 for a 50g jar.

Review | Suti Honour Coconut & Roses Face Cream

Friday, 27 March 2015

I got the Suti Honour Face Cream as a Christmas present by one of my salon clients. I was really excited to try this and it was amazing. One of the best face creams I have ever tried.

Suti uses Meditation, Reiki and Crystals when making their products believing beauty and wellbeing go hand in hand. They also use organic ingredients approved by the soil association. Honour contain 80% organic ingredients.

Suti explains on their website
"When applying this beautiful cream it becomes a time for reflection, a time to be at one with yourself, a time to create a Sacred Space to Honour – Above, Below and Within."

I definitely find this Honour face-cream special and would agree the cream being one with my skin. It's an enjoyment to apply it.

The cream is really light on my skin and don't need very much so it lasts a long time. The smell is very pleasing. The mix of coconut, rose and date is perfect. I find the smell of rose can be overwhelming sometimes, but the coconut and date balance it out well.

My skin feels great after using this cream for a while now. It's soft and still able to breathe. I find that it just works perfectly with my skin. I'm so happy I've found Suti.

Honour face-cream is beautifully packaged in a glass bottle with a pump that makes it easy to get the just right (Lagom as we say in Sweden) amount of cream in my hand.

Price is £58 is not cheap but definitely worth you splashing out that bit more. I'm surprised for how easy I'm talking myself into its worth the money from never spending more than £20 on a face cream before. But it's seriously worth it if you have the money. You can get Suti on their website www.sutiskincare.com. They are also available on Amazon and in Wholefoods.
