Air plants or Tillandsia are fairly easy to look after, but they do need some care. They take in all their nutrients and water through the air.
These small plants don't need any soil. In the wild, they attach themselves to a tree high up in the canopy where they receive some light, but still shielded from the direct sunlight.
I found my air plants in my favourite plant shop, Ginkgo. They're easy to look after and I've been loving mine and looking to get more.
As they don't need any soil, you can be very creative on how to display them. I still haven't figured out exactly how to display mine yet.

Watering
Even though they're called air plants they still need watering.
Fill a basin, bowl or sink with water and soak your air plants for 30-60 minutes. Then gently shake the water off the plants and allow them to dry before placing them back. You'll need to do this once a week.
On days you don't water them, you can mist your air plants lightly. You will notice as they soak up water, they will turn a more vivid colour of green. Make sure you don't let your air plant sit in water for extended periods of time or they'll rot and die.
Vattning
Även om de kallas luft växter så behöver de fortfarande vattnas. Fyll ett handfat eller en skål med vatten och blötlägg dina växter i ca 30-60 min. Sen skaka försiktigt av vattnet från växterna och låt den torka. Du behöver göra detta en gång i veckan. Dagar du inte vattnar dem kan du spraya lite lätt med vatten. Du kommer märka efter de suger upp vattnet att de ändras till en mer levande och intensiv grön färg. Se till att de inte sitter i vatten långa tidsperioder då de kommer att ruttna och dö.
Light
Air plants love bright but indirect, light. Direct indoor light is good too, just make sure you mist them regularly. Don't put them too close to a window that has direct light as they'll dry out.
Ljus
Air plants älskar ljus, men inte direkt solljus. Direkt ljus från lampor går bra. Bara se till att du sprejar dem regelbundet. Placera dem inte för nära ett fönster som har direkt solljus då de kan lätt torka ut.
Grooming
If some of the lower leaves have dried out, you can gently pull them off. Cut any tips of the leaves that have dried out, to allow the leaves to grow.

Air plant pups
Air plants will eventually produce little sprouts or "pups" from their base. When a pup reaches 1/3 of the size of the adult plant you can gently separate them by pulling them apart.

Air plants kommer till slut producera små skott eller sticklingar från roten. När sticklingen når 1/3 av den vuxna växten kan du försiktigt separera dem genom att dra isär dem.
