Warm summer days mean sandals. The time is definitely here where our feet are out on display most days.
Also, this is the time of holiday where you either on the beach or running barefoot in the grass. Of course, we want pretty feet for our Instagram photos lying down by the poolside.
I've been working on getting my summer feet ready and thought I share with you, my little secrets.
Varma sommardagar betyder sandaler. Tiden då våra fötter får synas för det mesta är definitivt här. Även tiden för semester då man antingen är på stranden eller springer barfota i gräset. Självklart vill vi då ha fina fötter till våra instagram bilder liggandes vid poolen. Jag har jobbat med att göra mina fötter redo för sommaren och tänkte dela med mig av mina hemligheter.
Foot baths are essentials for pretty feet. I got a foot spa many years ago, as a gift from my husband, when I first started hairdressing.
I top it up with water and then add Botanicals foot soak with Himalayan rock salt, Dead Sea salt, mint and tea tree. Soaking your feet softens them and gets rid of dead skin cells as well as just being relaxing.
Fotbad är ett måste för fina fötter. Jag fick ett fotspa många år sedan, i present av min man, när jag precis började som frisör. Jag fyller det med vatten och tar i Botanicals foot soak med Rock salt från Himalia, döda havet salt, mint och Tea tree. Att bada fötterna gör dem mjukare och får bort döda hudceller och även avslappnande.
Once I feel I'm done with the soak and the water starting to get a bit cold. I exfoliate with the foot scrub bar from PHB with Dead Sea salt and orange. This thing is amazing. It gets rid of all hard, rough skin and dead skin cells and leaves the feet feeling super soft.
När jag känner mig klar med fotbadet och vattnet håller på att bli kallt. Då skrubbar jag med en foot scrub bar från PHB med döda havet salter och apelsin. Den är helt fantastisk. Den får bort all hård hud och döda hudceller och får huden att kännas jättelen.
Lastly after drying the feet I cream them with my hydrating foot cream from Dr Hauschka. It's a thick and rich cream and perfect for dry skin. It contains the soothing st, johns wort.
After this, your feet feel brand new. I'm trying to do this once or twice a week to keep them looking healthy and fresh for the summer days.
Till slut efter jag torkat fötterna smörjer jag in dem med min hydrating fotkräm från Dr Hauschka. Det är en tjock och rik kräm och perfekt till torr hud. Den innehåller den lugnade Johannes örten.
Efter detta känns dina fötter som nya. Jag försöker göra en eller två gånger i veckan för att underhålla dem och alltid se hälsosamma och fina ut för sommardagarna.
To top it all off I paint my toenails and this time I chose this blue shade Reverse the charges from London Town Lakur.

Mina händer är en del av kroppen jag måste ta hand om mest. Att jobba som frisör betyder att jag konstant är i vatten och tar i massor med produkter, vilket gör att mina händer lätt blir torra. När jag testade ett prov på Botanicals wild rose handkräm så visste jag att jag var tvungen att beställa en full storlek.
Last time I did an order from LoveLula I discovered that they have this beautiful set with a hand wash and hand cream. Perfect for the bathroom.
It came beautifully packed in a box. The bottles are in 165g and fit perfect on the sink. The bottles are very appealing and look luxurious. Our guest always comments on how much they like the bottles and of course the scent.
Senast jag beställde från LoveLula upptäckte jag att de har ett vackert set med handtvål och handkräm. Perfekt för badrummet.
Det kom vackert paketerat i en kartong. Flaskorna kommer i 165g och passar perfekt vid handfatet. Flaskorna är väldigt fina och ser lyxiga ut. Våra gäster kommenterar alltid på hur de gillar flaskorna och doften såklart.
The scent is wild-rose. It's a beautiful, subtle rose scent and makes you always smell your hands after using the products.
Doften är vildros. Det är en underbar doft av ros. Inte för stark. De får dig att lukta på dina händer varje gång efter du använt produkterna.
The hand wash is detergent free, naturally anti-bacterial and made with only natural ingredients. Which means it won't remove your natural oils when washing your hands.
The hand cream is moisturising and feels very caring of my hands. It contains skin nourishing ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter and rosehip.
Handtvålen är fri från tvättmedel, naturligt antibakteriellt och gjort på bara naturliga ingredienser. Vilket betyder att det inte tar bort dina naturliga oljor när du tvättar dina händer.
Handkrämen återfuktar och känns som om den tar hand om mina händer. Den innehåller närande ingredienser för huden som sheasmör, kokossmör och nypon.
These products work perfectly together and have now become a staple in my bathroom.

Hösten är här! Med alla vackra färger och kallare väder vill jag bara mysa med mina stora Cardigans och en stor kopp te. När jag byter till höst, ändrar jag även en del av min beauty rutin. Här är några av mina favorit höstprodukter.
I think it's the aromatic scent of fennel, lavender and mint that makes it perfect for autumn. It makes the skin smooth. I love applying it straight after a hot bath.
Jag tror det är den aromatiska doften av fänkål, lavendel och mint som gör den perfekt för hösten. Det gör huden len. Jag gillar att applicera den direkt efter ett varmt bad.
Talking about baths. My favourite bath oil is from MOA (Modern Organic Apothecary). With a wonderful blend of ingredients like fennel, mint and fir needles, which makes this a relaxing and invigorating experience that clears your mind.
På prat om bad. Min favourite olja är från MOA (Modern Organic Apothecary). Med en fantastisk blandning av ingredienser som fänkål, mint och barr, vilket gör det till ett avslappnade och uppfriskande upplevelse som får tankarna att klarna.
I've just recently started to use this face cream and a full review is coming soon. But I felt right away that this is perfect for Autumn. The cream is rich and it's one of those creams you just know is amazing the second you apply it on the skin. It's super hydrating so perfect for colder weather.
Jag har precis börjat använda denna ansiktskräm och en recension kommer snart. Men jag kände på en gång att den är perfekt för hösten. Krämen är dryg och det är en av de krämer som man bara vet att den är fantastisk sekunden man smörjer in den på huden. Den är super återfuktande så perfekt för kallare väder.

Another beautiful product I recently discovered. The oil feels great on the skin right away. The scent of neroli and ylang-ylang feels soothing and skin feels hydrating and smooth.
En annan fin product som jag nyligen upptäckt. Oljan känns fantastisk på huden på en gång. Doften av neroli och ylang-ylang känns lugnande och huden känns återfuktad och len.

Botanicals have recently launched three new products just in time for Organic beauty week. The three products are the Wild rose body lotion, Wild rose body polish and Wild rose hand cream.
You've probably guessed that Wild rose essential oil is one of the key ingredients. It has natural antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
I got a chance to try out the body lotion and also a sample of the hand cream and the body polish that Botanicals kindly sent me to try.

Du har antagligen gissat på att vild ros är en av huvudingredienser. Det har naturlig antibakteriella, anti-virala, anti-svamp och antiinflammatoriska egenskaper.
Jag fick en chans att prova deras body lotion och också prover på body polishen och handkrämen som Botanicals så snällt skickade till mig.
First of all the Rose scent is gorgeous. It has a fresh rose floral scent. It has become a pure pleasure to moisturise my skin after a shower with this lotion. It leaves the skin feeling silky smooth. It's light and allows the skin to breathe, but still rich enough to moisturise and keeping my skin hydrated.
Först av allt är rosdoften är fantastisk. Det har en fräsch ros blommig doft. Det har blivit ett rent nöje att smörja huden efter duschen med den här krämen. Den får huden att kännas silkeslen. Den är lätt och tillåter huden att andas, men fortfarande dryg för att vara fuktgivande.
It comes in a tinted bottle to help the lotion to last longer. It also has a pump which makes it easy to apply and also stops from contaminating when dipping fingers in it. A 200ml bottle retails at £24.
Den kommer i en färgad flaska för att få krämen att hålla längre. Den har även en pump, vilket gör det lättare att applicera och också stoppar föroreningar från fingrar. En 200ml flaska kostar £24 (268kr).
Out of the samples, I would love to get the hand cream in a bigger size as they made my hands soft and I'm always on the lookout for a good hand cream.
Utav proverna skulle jag vilja ha handkrämen i en större storlek. Den gjorde mina händer mjuka och jag är letar alltid efter en bra handkräm.

I recently did a massive empties video. And somehow I still managed to have a few more empties just few weeks later. I thought I share them with you here as I don't want to save them and take empty bottles with me when I move to Sweden.
Jag gjorde nyligen en massiv empties video. På nåt sätt har jag lyckats göra slut på fler produkter på bara några veckor. Så jag tänkte att jag delar med mig här eftersom jag inte vill spara dem och ta med mig tomma flaskor när jag flyttar till Sverige.
My first product I finished was Neals Yard remedies honey & orange facial scrub. It smells lovely, but it's too rough on my skin. The grains are quite big and you have to be very gentle applying it on the skin. I would use this more as a body scrub, than a face scrub.
Min första produkt som tog slut var Neals Yard remedies honey & orange facial scrub. Den luktar ljuvligt men den är för grov på min hud. Den har ganska stora korn och du måste vara försiktig när du applicerar den på huden. Jag tycker den skulle vara bättre som en body scrub istället för face scrub.
Another empty product is the gorgeous oil bloom & glow from Angela Langford. I've enjoyed this facial oil so much and I'm sad it's finished. It's been perfect for my skin and one of my favourite oils at all times.
En annan tom product är den underbara oljan bloom & Glow från Angela Langford. Jag har njutit så mycket av denna ansikts olja och det är så tråkigt att den är slut. Den var perfekt för min hud och en av mina favorit oljor någonsin.
I also finished Botanicals nourishing face balm. Another skincare product I enjoyed. It melts in to the skin and moisturising it well. I've done a review on it if you want to read more.

The last of my empties is Sukin's protein hair treatment. I loved this hair treatment. I actually kept getting comments on my hair every time I used it. It made the hair feel soft and look healthy. It's definitely become a staple hair product I will keep going back too .
Den sista empties är Sukins protein Hair treatment. Jag älskade den här hårmasken. Jag fick flera kommentarer på mitt hår varje gång jag använde den. Den fick håret att kännas lent och se hälsosamt ut. Det har definitivt blivit en av mina stapel hår produkter jag kommer att återkomma till.

Sometimes life is full on and it's hard to get time to yourself. But that's when it's more important to make sure you take time out and relax. Leading up to Christmas is that time for me. With everyone needing their hair done before Christmas. I work more than usual and being constant busy. My body aches and I feel constantly tired. I know it's time to take time out and have some me-time.
Often when I need to relax I go for a run to let my brain lock off and just empty my mind. I also love going for a massage. But sometimes the best thing to do is to take an hour or two and just do nothing and pamper myself.
First, I like to take a bath. I'm not a massive bath person so not taking a long long hot bath here. I normally just need to let my muscles relax for a bit. I've recently discovered the perfect friend for this kind of bath. It's MOA (Magic Organic Apotechary) fortifying green bath potion.
The MOA bath potion is perfect for my aching and tired body. I never enjoyed a bath so much since I've started using the green bath potion. As a hairdresser I stand for many hours a day. I'm also a keen runner do my legs are often aching as well as my lower back. Within minutes in my bath I feel better. I can feel my muscles starting to loosen up and I feel energised.
MOA's bath potion contains refreshing peppermint, detoxifying fennel, calming, relaxing fir needle and sweet birch to ease achy muscles.
It feels refreshing and I love the cooling feeling the peppermint gives the skin. I always feel too hot after a few minutes and want to get out of the bath. But not with this bath potion, I feel I can stay in the bath forever whilst it works miracles on my muscles.
Also a little side note for anyone who hasn't got their Christmas presents yet. The MOA green bath potion has the most gorgeous packaging and is perfect to give away as a present to anyone who loves a bath or just need to de-stress.
When taking a bath I like to light candles all around the bath. I find candles, relaxing and helps me to rewind.

After the bath I cream my body with Neals Yard Remedies Beauty sleep body butter. I love this body butter. It's so nourishing for the body makes the skin soft. It hydrates it well that it still feels smooth the day after. It has a calming effect, which makes it perfect after a relaxing bath.
Once relaxed and pampered I make myself a cup of tea, light some more candles and with a good book I get cosy in my bed. Even better if I got some chocolate too.
There I stay as long as possible.

A perfect balm for the cold winter months when your skin needs a little extra TLC and hydration.
My love affair with botanicals continues. A while back I reviewed Botanicals revitalising mask. Since then I've tried their face balm. Such a gorgeous, perfect and they work perfectly together.
On the label:
"A deeply conditioning, natural balm to help soften and enhance the texture of your skin. Infused with Wild rose and rose geranium, renowned for their nourishing and revitalising properties."
When applying the balm feels similar like a oil. It easily melts into your skin and makes it easy to apply. Therefore you only need a very small amount and will last you a long time. It makes my skin feel hydrated and silky smooth.
It has a gorgeous smell from rose and lavender. The other key ingredients are Shea butter, grape seed oil and jojoba.
I have found since using botanicals my skin has improved. I normally have dry patches on my cheeks and recently I haven't been as dry. Especially in the winter I need a more moisturising face cream. The cold weather mixed with central heating can be devastating for my skin. I find that Botanicals nourishing face balm is exactly what my skin needs. It's perfect for night time and I wake up with perfectly hydrated skin.

We often hear Parabens are bad for us and we should choose Paraben free products. But why are they bad and why should we avoid them? Today I'm looking in to Parabens with a magnifying glass and hopefully make things a bit clearer.
What are Parabens?
Parabens are cheap and effective preservatives. Parabens are used to make products last longer. They kill mold and fungus for longer and that way dramatically extend the shelf life of many beauty and health care items and stops them going bad too quickly.
Why are Parabens bad?
Many studies have been done on the most common Paraben chemicals like
• methylparaben
• ethylparaben
• propylparaben
• butylparaben
• isobutylparaben
According to the studies parabens may be bad to your harm health. By contributing to the development of cancerous tumours. There are differing views on this subject from a range of medical researchers. There is the question that these chemicals are found in some cancerous tumour tissue. The links between Parabens and cancer (specifically breast cancer) are of concern to people.
There is a worry that Parabens can be stored in the body and over time they could have a cumulative effect and damage health over time.
While there is currently no scientific evidence to confirm that Parabens directly causes cancer. It's right to be mindful. Do you want to take the risk? I know I don't.
Where do I find Parabens?
Parabens are found in over three-quarters of beauty and health care products. Almost any typical beauty or health care aide. May contain these chemicals, unless it's specifically labelled "Paraben-free".
Parabens are found in most haircare and skincare products like
• Shampoos & conditioners
• Moisturisers
• Sunscreens
• Toothpaste
• Mascara
And many other cosmetics.
Alternatives to Parabens
Paraben-free products may contain ingredients, such as organic-acids, that help to preserve formulas without harmful side effects. Examples of organic acids used in the place of Parabens include
• diazolidinyl urea
• sodium benzoate
• potassium sorbate
Always read the labels on products. But safest is always to go for products that are labelled Paraben-free.
If you want to play it extremely safe, use a few oil-based organic products that don't contain water (which calls for a preservative). They often come in dark containers with a pump so that light and air don't degrade them quickly. Just make sure you use them within their use-by date.
Conclusion
While the evidence is not completely satisfactory regarding the safety of Parabens in cosmetics. I think it's important to be aware and make choices of avoiding these toxins for your own health. Choose Paraben-free products.
